1Very disappointing!  Feb 06, 2010
I got this for my nephew for Christmas. He had been wanting an RC helicoptor and I was very excited to give this to him. When he opened it up Christmas morning, he was so disappointed when he realized it would not work. We thought it was the batteries and changed them, and it still would not work. The lights turned on the docking station but the helicoptor would not move at all. To make matters worse, I could not return it because the packaging got mixed in with all the other wrapping and we never did find it. This was a huge waste of money.

5great 'big boy toy'  Jan 02, 2010
I purchased this helicopter for an adult as a Christmas present. He was thrilled with it and we all had fun taking turns with trying to fly it.

2It's okay  Aug 27, 2009
Bought this for my 6 yr old nephew. He loved to fly it into walls and such. That didn't do much damage. But the rotors do get hair caught in them and that just kills it's flying ability. Would not purchase this product again.

3Experienced pilot, REAL helicopter builder/flyer, and R/C modeler - Review of Havoc Air Hogs  Jul 08, 2009
I hope my words will help some out there. As an engineer, commercial pilot (fixed and rotary wing), experimental helicopter builder, and avid R/C modeler since the Dead Sea was still sick, I enjoy all things that fly. The Havoc Helis are no exception. I've owned/given as gifts many of these, and while they are generally fragile creatures - they have to be kept extremely light, after all - the biggest gripe I have is the inconsistency of trim-related problems.

Recently, I found four helis and two controllers on eBay for $[...]. I figured it was worth it to have the ability to make at least two work. I was able to dissect the units, repair one with a useless main mast drive, etc. One thing I can't seem to resolve is the CCW spin, no matter how much trim is dialed in on the trim button. Comparison of the two working units to the two others which are spinnage-challenged indicates that the tail rotor motors on those two seem weak. I plan to do more investigation and dissection, but I believe the tail rotor thrusts are weak, probably due to weak motors. Typical MBA-encrusted, Made-in-China lack of quality control.

If you find a Havoc Heli with workable trim, congratulations, and have fun! It's a shame there's not more QC on this product - it could be a really fun toy - especially the Battling Helis!

Cheers

1I Don't Like Air Hogs Afterall  Apr 01, 2009
Doesn't trim well. Does not recover easily from any disturbance. Doesn't hover at all. Steering did not work at all well. I'm sticking with the $[...]-$[...] RC helicopters.

Video is somewhat misleading in showing the ease of flying.
