Indispensable tool for my 450 RC Helicopter Apr 08, 2012

These pesky ball link joints were a pain to remove, especially when you want that perfect tail rotor hold when you first power up and take off, which often requires fine adjustment with the link disconnected from the tail rotor servo. All the linkages on the swash plate, head, and rotor also are in very tight spaces, so these pliers come in very handy there as well. I use this tool for my Hausler 450 SE V2 RTF Electric RC Helicopter, which is essentially an Align 450 clone. It's a perfect fit. I even use it on the Double Horse 9116 plastic joints (although pliers are a bit big for the Double Horse 9116 15" 2.4GHz 4CH 4 Channel RC Single Blade Helicopter Gyro Big 450 Size mini heli). Removing the "hook" from the ball link is no longer a chore with this tool.
The pliers are solidly built with good ergonomics. Although I thought it's a bit pricy, it works well for me.
Does Not Work for EXI 500 Ball Link Mar 10, 2012
By Kevin T. Matthews The heli craze is resulting in depleted tock for many manufacturers. I would have thought these would have worked for many mid sized heli's-I was wrong. The Pliers were too large for my EXI 500 Carbon and my Blade 450. Looks like a wasted $20 bucks. They should put in the comments "this only fits Align products" if that is the case. The car parts houses tell you what model cars the wiper blade fits - why can't they do it with ball link pliers? By the time I shipped these back I would have the total value of the pliers in shipping costs. I give this three stars because it may work ok wuth Align ball links but maybe it has to be an 800 size heli. I do not have a hobby store nearby so I am stuck with trial and error shopping om the net. I hope someone else has better luck. Happy shopping!
