not a toy Oct 10, 2009
By A. Chow I'm new to RC heli flying and this is a great entry product into the hobby. First of, this is not one of those $50 toys that you see on sale in department store. This thing takes skill and concentration to fly or you will crash real fast and might hurt yourself in the process. At least for me, I crashed 3X before I could get it to a low level controlled hover. The good news is that it cost me around $20 each time I crashed to fix it. Also, there are many youtube videos on this products and that's how I learned to fix and set up. The instruction manual is not that great because it assumes that you have background in RC heli. RC heli is a complex hobby because there are so many variables to flying a heli well. I'm now just able to do a stable hover and have a long ways to go to fly 3D which is flying sideways, upside down, and any acrobatics. Another advantage of the heli is that it's so popular that virtually any hobby store will carry spare parts for it which you will need because you will eventually crash. I did a long of research on which heli to buy as a beginner and this is the one by far the best choice.

WOW! What a heli! (still a newbie but love this heli) Feb 17, 2008

"MATTXR2i"
I just got my 400 3d in today and I have to say it is a really nice heli! I'm still relatively new to RC helicopters so when I fired this puppy up my first reaction was "Yikes!" This thing is VERY powerful for a mini electric! But after easing the throttle up just enough to get it "hopping" I found that it is very stable for a 3d heli. I get it into a hover in just minutes with little correction. I would definatly suggest this one to an RC pilot who wants to step up from a Coaxial like the CX/CX2. It is EXTREEMLY responsive and NOT an indoor flyer! That being said I would only suggest it to someone who is REALLY good with the CX2 or has put alot of time on a sim (or both) And if you don't already have one, GET A FLIGHT SIM! (I'll be ordering mine from Hobbyzone today :-) All in all a very good heli and surprizingly stable. (much more stable than a CP/CP pro) And it can handle a little bit of wind. (no more "darn there's a breeze! no flying for me")

Blade 400 3D Sep 11, 2010
By M I decided to purchase the Blade 400 3D after a little research on the best heli to learn on with respect to my wallet. This product met my criteria so I purchased it. A great entry level rc heli with a decent price, a brand that I can easily get parts for at my local hobby shop, and after dialing down the settings (in the radio) the heli became very tame.
The heli and Spektrum DX6i are a great combo. I wasn't thrilled with the charger which was included with the combo so I purchased 5 additional 2200MaH Flightmax batteries and a Turnigy LiPo charger. Nothing wrong with the charger that came with the combo, it's just very, very, basic and with one battery you get about 6 minutes of flight time.
With the settings dialed down and the additional batteries, this rc heli is a joy to fly. In flight it is a bit twitchy probably because I just started to learn to fly it, but it is very manageable.
If you are a beginner like me, I would also recommend training gear and a flight simulator because this will reduce the time it takes to actually fly it, and crashing is not an option. Overall I am pleased with the heli for what I paid.

brief review of Blade 400 Aug 29, 2008
By H. Hum This helicopter is very easy to assemble. Once charged, the helicopter almost flies itself and is able to take a few tough landings. The only negative is the AC charger is not included. Otherwise, a great buy.
Best bang for the buck! Sep 15, 2011
By MCrider Got this at an excellent price and talk about fast delivery! I had it before Amazon's estimated earliest arrival date. Not flying yet as a few hours on the Phoenix SIM are a must.
