-The CNC Upper Main Blade Grips are designed to replace plastic stock blade grips and main blades on the Blade CX2 & CX3. The product is 100% aluminum CNC machined to provide best precision and durability. The light and stylish high quality aircraft aluminum blade grips brings more stability to the E-FLITE Blade CX2 helicopters. One of the best features of the main blade grips is that it is redesigned so that the blades are able to fold in to reduce the load force of the impact thus reduce the chance of breaking blades. It is compatible with stock plastic innershaft and main rotor hub and use different main blades that are included.

Much better than other folding conversions Jun 05, 2009 By M. Thompson
Ok everyone. Let me start out by saying I have two Blade CX2s. I purchased this upper hub for my original (oldest one) I bought this to replace a plastic folding conversion I had bought earlier. While this (being CNC) was of course more expensive, I can surely say its worth it. Looks along make this a better fit than most plastic folding sets.

Pros,
1. More durable than any plastic hub you can purchase (folding or not)

2. If you are moving from a set blade setup (stock) Folding is the way to go, far fewer broken blades / blade strikes.

3. Most CX2s come with a CNC upper hub, an most are blue. Adding this blue upper blade holder really gives you CX a much better look.

Cons,
1. Some folding blades may have to be sanded down on the edges to fit into the slots (Example, I use hardened white blades from Helitek-RC. To get mine to fit well I had to slightly sand some from the handle side of the blades) This isn't a big deal, but something to keep in mind.

2. The "spaces" that fit inside each side holder slips out rather easily during installation. May be a good idea to install this over a colored towel (black would wok well) seeing as the spacers are small and white. Which would make finding them if they fall out much easier!

In closing, I've used Microheli parts before and was not satisfied (tailboom) However, with this one they got it right, and I tip my hat to them.

Got this in good time. It has already saved me a good deal from broken wings folowing crashes. Only snag about it was the fact that one had to go looking for a tiny spanner/plier to secure the tiny nuts that came with it.
