no design flaw at all - need power screw driver Dec 21, 2009
By F. Sparks This is a great toy. We gave it to my best friend's daughter for her 2nd birthday and she loved it instantly. There is NO design flaw. What people have trouble with is that when you screw together the wheel fork & steering wheel, the hole is only pre-drilled to a certain point. The other 3/4" you need to drill in yourself-into the plastic so that it stays secure. If it were pre-drilled all the way in, it would fall out. It's like that on purpose!
That said, the a power screw driver or drill with a screwdriver bit worked great. You also need a hammer to tap in some pieces on the wheels. It was easy to assemble.
I was a little worried about the handle height. I'm 5'8" and I could easily push it without bending over. I think people over 5'10" would have to bend down. Since the mom is going to be doing most of the pushing, and she's shorter than me, it won't be a problem. I hear the XL version of this trike has a longer handle.
It's really easy to convert from rocker to trike, and her 5-year-old cousin figured it out in under 5 minutes. The seat is adjustable to accommodate growth.
Hope this helps!

Rock 'n Ride Trike Nov 30, 2009

We purchased this for our 22 month old son and he was excited about it. He is on the short side so with the seat adjusted all the way forward, he still cannot pedal but he enjoys having us push him. He is also able to coast down our slightly sloped drive while using the foot rest. For the money, I think this is a good little starter trike and we really like the handle so we can help him learn.

PLASTIC, just take note of that! Jan 09, 2010
By Mary Poppins We bought this for our daughter (2 1/2) from Santa. Hubby put it together the night before, took about 15-20 minutes. The bad thing is that you can't switch from one position to another without needing a screwdriver and taking out screws and moving them to another place. So it's either a trike or a rocking toy. Also, take note it is plastic - including the wheels. This means there's no traction for riding around the house. On both wood floors and carpet, our daughter is spinning wheels a lot of the time. And when I push her around, the wheels just slide across the floor instead of turning. We bought this for seriously DIRT cheap, as in under twenty dollars, so I can't really complain. I think it will be better outside on the pavement once the weather is nice again. The peddles are a bit far from the seat too, so if your little one is short, that might be an issue. Our daughter is average and has to sit on the edge of the seat to reach the peddles. Just a few facts for anyone considering this. I would reccommend a higher quality honestly, unless you can get it cheap like we did. Metal and real tires are going to last a lot longer and be less frustrating to the little one. Good luck!

Best tricycle out there Dec 06, 2009
By myamazingkids My son received this as a gift for his 2nd birthday, and he has used it ever since. He is now 5 1/2, and can barely fit on it (he's big for his age) but still loves to ride it. Compared to other trikes out there, it is very easy to pedal and is very easy to steer. it also is relatively safer than other trikes, because it is next to impossible to tip over. My only complaint is that we've had lots of fights over who gets to ride this trike, so I wish it came in pairs!

If you're of average or tall height get the XL Sep 23, 2010
By R C I could not figure out the difference between this trike and the red/purple XL trike. I thought it was because this was an older model. I read another review AFTER purchasing this trike that said the XL has a longer push handle for taller people. Well I'm 5' 6" and this is not comfortable for me push for any extended period of time. Since my son was rejecting the stroller I thought this would be great for transportation to the park, but it's not. The plastic wheels are loud, it's hard to control because my son has no concept of steering yet, and the push handle bends down a bit so I have to hunch over A LOT. I think it will be fine when my son knows how to pedal himself, but I wish I had spent the few extra bucks and bought the XL.
