5Great little heli -- too bad it is gone  Jul 06, 2011 By Law Linick
I read the other reviews and I disagree. I fly all kinds of helis and this is one of my all-time favorites. I have two of them and fly all the time indoors only. They are rock solid flyers with great precision in the flight controls. The problems pointed out are somewhat valid. First -- you have to get rid of the plastic pins in the rotor shafts. Simply cut them off, drill a small hole and replace by gluing in a small bit of metal shaft. I used little peices of nails that I cut with a wire cutter and then file flat. I also put small peices of duct tape on the battery holder and canopy to strengthen them. After that it is smooth sailing. The CX Micro is one of -- if not the best heli ever -- and I mean any type and size! I fly 450, 600, 3D etc... and I still love pestering the dog or flying through livingroom mazes with this baby!

Now, it is really too bad that Heli Max stopped producing it. It is so cool looking too with that bubble canopy! I just realized that the Commanche is probably the same heli with a different body style -- not as cool (ughh), so I will recommmend the CX Micro Commanche to anyone and maybe get one myself. They are $79 for god's sake. That is full 4 channel heli for way under $100. Go get one, and don't buy any 3 channel junk from the mall. These are real helis. Heli Max is under-rated and they make a great heli compared to E-flite. All helis require some skill in fixing and modifying them to get them really perfect.

2Nowhere Near as Good as the E-Flite mCX or mCX2!  Jul 01, 2010 By russbooker
This is a cute-looking little heli, but when it's flight characteristics and general durability are compared to an E-Flite mCX or mCX2, there's no comparison.

The Axe Micro is harder to hover steadily and fly, and it's not as smooth, elegant or responsive (or forgiving) as the E-flite products. Seems less well constructed than the E-flite, and can't take the punishment that the mCX's can (such as accidentally flying into furniture or walls.)

Overall, from product packaging to parts, the Axe is somewhat disappointing and inferior to the E-flite. Pass on this model and choose an E-flite instead... you'll be glad you did.

2Buy Plenty of Spares  Apr 06, 2009 By B. Stephens
Though this helicopter performs well, even minor crashes result in broken rotor components. Fortunately, replacement parts are readily available from places like Tower Hobbies. The primary weakness is the small studs that the rotor blades pilot onto. If the blade contacts any solid sufrace these shear off and require replacement of the top rotor shaft assembly. I think some better material selection is in order or a design improvement. If you are experienced in flying RC helicopters and have ample room indoors, this is an excellent selection. If not, trying to fly in close proximity to furniture, etc, can be costly and frustrating.
