Vactioning in Lego Land! Aug 23, 2010
By Justin Gaines Ever since my son started getting into the Lego City sets, he's had his eye on the Lego City Camper set. He loves the Lego sets that "do stuff" and this one does a lot. The back opens up so you can set up eating and sleeping arrangements, and there are enough accessories (surfboard, bicycle, grill, fish, mugs and frying pan) to keep the minifigure pair (a man and a woman) busy.
Complexity: This is a fairly complex set. You build the bottom half of the camper and the cab, and then the fold-out camper shell halves are assembled. My son took care of the minifigures and some of the larger pieces (windows, wheels, etc.), but I had to build the rest.
Playability: It's a bit tricky getting the camper open, but once you do the play possibilities are endless. Between the camper configurations and copious accessories, the two vacationing minifigures (so far dubbed Mama and Dada) can have plenty of adventures.
This set was money well spent, and a great addition to our growing Lego City. I also think it makes a great gender-neutral set, more so than the fire and police sets at least.

Great "play value" Sep 08, 2009
By C. Valentine This is not only a "put together" toy, but it also has great play value. My grandson loves Lego. Usually, he has fun putting it together but this one he actually plays with. He loves the outdoors so this is a perfect toy for him.

Excellent LEGO set, as always! Sep 12, 2009

My daughter got this for her 7th birthday and really enjoyed putting it together. She continues to play using it with her other lego sets. Perfect size, it didn't take so long to put together that she got bored, and an excellent price.

Great Value and good set for a girl Aug 04, 2010
By L. Elkerton This is a very nice set for the price. My just 6 year old daughter loves it! I built it with her the first time, but she could build it herself after that. There is just one hard step where you attach the hinges so the sides swing open. She has a hard time figuring out which way to put them on, so they swing properly. I would consider her an average builder. She is not interested in a lot of the Lego City sets (fire, police, etc), but this one caught her eye. A great set for a girl (or boy)!

Camping Fun! Sep 25, 2009

"Harrison's Mom"
My son has recently been introduced to the Lego world. He saw this camper and had to have it. It was not difficult to put together and it offers an opportunity for his imagination to get to work.
