Terrific Lego City vehicle Jun 21, 2010
By Justin Gaines The latest acquisition to my son's Lego collection is set 7638, the Lego City Tow Truck. This reasonably-priced set was my son's choice mainly because it had doors that opened and closed. I was more impressed by the working tow winch and cool, sturdy design, plus the driver and his various accessories.
Complexity: This is a pretty easy set to assemble. My son is only 4, so I did most of the building, but he was able to assemble the wheels and add the doors, windshield and roof. Plus of course the driver mini-figure. I think it took us about 30 minutes total.
Playability: Even with the moving parts, this is a pretty sturdy set. My son gave it a thorough product testing and we didn't have any major issues. My only complaint, and this seems to be the case with most Lego City sets, is that it isn't easy getting the mini-figure in and out of the truck. Even with the opening side doors, you have to take the roof off (and not in the good, Parliament way).
The Lego City Tow Truck is an excellent addition to our rapidly-expanding Lego world. It's a good-looking, fun set, and putting it together was the perfect way to spend part of Father's Day.

It was fairly easy to put together and we did hook up the toe truck to different Lego cars and RV and it worked really well..I totally recommend this product.

Fun truck! Nov 08, 2010

My son received this for his 5th birthday and just loves it! He's taken it apart and we've put it back together multiple times. He loves it! We lost a couple of pieces as he took it on a vacation but the Lego Site made ordering replacement parts super easy (and shipping wasn't bad at ~ two dollars).

Really fun lego at a good price! Nov 15, 2009
By J. Cryan my 3 year old lego maniac loved this set which is big for it's price!
Cheap Box Nov 16, 2011
By Q Although I have no complaint about the toy or the presumed fun of the toy I do have a problem with the very thin Lego box. Legos, even the smaller sets, used to come in sturdier cardboard boxes. The box for this toy and 2 other Lego toys I bought aren't even as thick as cereal boxes. All three boxes were crumpled during transit and since they are going to be a gift that is a problem.
