I purchased two sets of Magneatos (one set of curved and one of straight pieces) for two little boys, ages 2 (almost 3) and 15 months. The one year old is a bit young for "building", but seemed to love them and definitely did get the concept of the magnetic pieces. My concern before purchasing any magnetic building sets, was that they were safe for toddlers this age and they definitely are. All children love balls, and so both boys were drawn to the fact that the "sticks" are connected with the balls. The colors are bright and appealing and generally, I think that this is a great learning toy. I appreciate that they are toys that encourage imagination and creativity. I would definitely recommend.

This is the best toy since they have enlarged the size. It is so easy for all of the child care children to put together. They play with and mouth the pieces and I don't have to cringe while they are doing it. (Balls are too big to put in mouth) The best yet. Even the parents like playing with it.

We received this toy as a gift for our 3 year old. It is a disappointment: the magnets aren't that strong, the pieces don't stick together that well, and, most problematic, what you can build is really limited (and pretty uninteresting). Our son has had much more success and fun with regular old building blocks. In our case, the 16+ hard balls that came with this became favorite objects for throwing around the living room. This is one gift we were happy to get rid of on eBay.
