Exact replacement. Mar 21, 2010

This is an exact replacement of the stock part. If you over-tighten the screws they will strip. Tighten the rotor blade screws just enough to secure the rotor blade but loose enough to allow the blade to flop back and forth when you tilt the copter. I've been running this replacement part for about 50 flights at 6 minutes each with no problems.

A spare part you need when you buy the mSR Mar 30, 2011

The main blade grip is the weak link in the excellent Blade mSR rotor system design. When the whirling blades make contact with an immovable object, something has to yield and at some point the tiny ball stem that captures the connect buckle to the balancing bar will snap off. These are tiny parts, smaller than the finger tips and tools that must work to replace them. The part is amazingly durable considering its minuscule presence. If a stem breaks away the helicopter will fail to rise more than a few inches and move in an unpredictable direction.
The main blade grips are sold in a set. It is likely that you will only need one part at a time from the set so when you buy the parts with hardware (four screws) you are probably buying a repair for two occasions. I bought three sets so potentially I will be able to repair the mSR six times if only one grip breaks at a time. The two grips you receive in the package / kit are identical. In other words, they are not left and right hand. The repair is a bit difficult because the size of the part and screws. Magnification is imperative as well as lighting and good tools. Repairing this part of the mSR takes some patience as well as a good mechanical aptitude - not to mention hand / eye dexterity.
An alternative to using the direct replacement part is the CNC'd aluminum upgrade. At almost $20 I decided to buy a small handful of plastic replacements and a determination to crash a little less. I can buy five sets (ten parts) for the price of the aluminum upgrade. The repair effort required and risk may be the thing to consider when deciding to buy the plastic or metal upgrade. I'm accustomed to working at a level of frustration so for me, more parts at a lower price is preferable to fewer parts at a premium price. The choice is yours of course but I'm not disappointed with mine. The direct replacements are good!

As soon as you tighten the screw to set the blade in place it will strip. Buy the alum. ones on here and you wont have to worry about it ever again.
