GREAT for my 2 year old daughter Nov 02, 2010

"NET SURFER"
In general, for the price and value it is a GREAT deal comparing with other name brands like LEGO or DUPLO. The possibility for them to create something is endless (eventhough I was hoping they put more blocks inside). Amazon shipped it very fast too. I would recommend it to any family who has 18 - 48 months kids.
Great toy Oct 15, 2010
By mandymans123 I got this for my four year old. She is a very girly girl always playing with dolls. But she LOVES the blocks she is playing with them everyday. Its a great amount of blocks just enough for her to make things with but not to many where I find them all over my house!
"Tote" name is misleading...but my son loves these! Sep 08, 2010
By Jennifer I am not sure why "tote" is in the name--it implied (to me at least) that the container was going to be able to be used as a tote to store/carry the blocks. This is NOT the case. The container is made of plastic-coated cardboard (which might be sturdy enough) and the top is a hard plastic piece--but there is nothing that holds the top onto the container. I re-read the description, and it doesn't say anything about it being a carry case as well...so I just misinterpreted...but I was still a bit disappointed.
That said, my 19 month old son LOVES these blocks. He plays with some similar ones at my chiropractor's office, so as soon as he saw these sitting on the counter, he kept pointing at them until I took them down and let him have them. He's still a bit too young to build things with them, but he does have fun stacking them.
With the little that I played with them today, they seem to come apart pretty easily, which can be good or bad--you don't have to have brute strength to pull them apart (or put them together) but if you make a tower and knock it over, it will probably collapse into at least a few pieces.
I'm also divided on the included stickers. While it's neat that you can put them wherever you want, I'm not sure they're a great idea at this age (granted, the blocks are meant for ages 3-5 and my son is younger). I am undecided if I will put them on or not--he's still at the age where he chews on things, and I can see these stickers coming off.
Overall, I got them for a good price and I'm glad I got them.
