I work at a treatment center for emotionally disturbed children. I was looking for dolls for play therapy. These looked good because they were not character driven (not something seen on TV like iCarly, Barbie, ... ect) and they had basic family members represented. I also liked them because they had multiple sets representing multiple ethnic groups. When I got them I found out that the bodies were small hard blocks of wood. I did not think this would be good for my purpose so I sent all three sets back. I was disappointed but will keep looking...

Got it for the grandkids, they love it! They use it with a dollhouse that did not come with dolls. They are the right size to use with a 3-floor 36" tall dollhouse. They are sturdy and I think they will last for many years.

Good thing they are durable because they don't stand up well. Apr 15, 2009

Our 4-year old daughter, as well as myself, have a hard time getting the people to stand up. The legs are uneven and fall down easily once they are standing. On the plus side, the limbs are bendable so they can stand or sit. The dining room table is not high enough for the peoples' legs to fit underneath so it is kind of akward.

These dolls looked so cute in the ad but I was disappointed when I actually saw them. They are very small, plain, and made of wooden blocks. Would probably have been okay if they had been in the $10-15 price range but not worth the $25+ I paid for them.

We bought this family along with a "Nursery+Baby" for our daughter's 2nd Christmas. She loves her Ryan's Room toys and carries them around everywhere. The dolls are easily posed. I wish you could mix and match families from the Ryan's Room selection as it would be nice to get different ethnicities without having to purchase such extended families. I'm glad we were able to add a baby to this family as our daughter identifies with that the most. But perhaps smaller sets can be purchased in stores? We highly recommend this company.
