4Great Fun Indoor Toy. Don't Overpay though.  Jan 02, 2008 By Brian Lombardo
These helicopters are great. Everyone that comes over loves them.

However, I bought them for $70 in early November on Amazon. Now I see them listed on Amazon for $170 and $250 in 2 different packages. I believe that this huge price increase is the due to the overwhelming demand for these now.
I'm not sure if that's a permanent price change, but I would not spend more than $100.
They definitely have a durability issue. Although mine have taken a beating pretty well bouncing off walls/ceiling and crashing on the rug, they lasted for two months without issue. Now, after two months, 1 of them has a broken tail (not just broken propeller but a broken tail), and this may not be repairable. The other one is still working well.

I have heard you can change the weight a little with a nail to help it go forward, but I haven't tried that yet. Otherwise, they are very hard to make go forward.....they mostly hover turning left and right and but not much forward movement.

All in all, I still think it was a great buy at $70....but not at $100+.

5multi-generational fun  Jan 12, 2008 By Grandpa
We bought this for our son and grandson. They're having a great time. The helicopters are very durable -- take a licking and keep on ticking. Also, the learning curve on controlling the helicopters was not too steep for either an eight-year old grandson or a sixty-five year old grandfather.

4Fun, fun, if you are patient  Dec 26, 2007 By Jason Davis
My brother-in-law gave me this for Christmas, since he had seen them and thought about purchasing for himself. We've been having lots of fun trying to get them airborne and even more fun laughing at our crashes. These things seem to take a moderate beating and falls from 8 to 10 feet haven't hurt them that we can see. Then again, we've only been at it for a few hours. We can't get steady flights, and air currents (fans, AC, strong breath to knock your opponent down) will affect the flight. Charge time is 15-30 minutes for a 6-10 minute flight (longer when your rotor stops while you are retrieving after a crash). The instructions say to let the battery cool for 15 minutes after a flight before charging, so it's about 45 minutes total with 10 minutes of play.
The "battle mode" is fun, but it doesn't help trying to get the hang of flying them. Learn to fly first...crashing isn't a difficult thing!
Overall, these are loads of fun, even if we manage to have 'copter casualties. Like an earlier reviewer, I wouldn't recommend these for smaller children, as they are NOT easy to fly.

5Great fun!  Dec 26, 2007 By Tess
My dh and ds are having a great time playing war with this heli set. They charge quickly, 15 minutes or so, and play lasts about 15 minutes too before recharging. That's not bad for rechargable toys. The helis work well, take crashes well, are fun to play with, and mad Christmas a hit! I highly recommend these. Worth the price.

2Copters Lasted One Week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Jan 05, 2008 By K. tomecek "Luv2Play"
Loved the copters while they worked! One started spinning out of control after the third use, then stopped working. The other has now stopped working after one week of use! $80.00 is a lot of money for such a few times of use!
